BlackRock, Inc. has launched a close-ended fixed income mutual fund, BlackRock Multi-Sector Income Trust, that primarily invests in loan and debt instruments and other investments with similar economic characteristics. The fund was formed on February 25, 2013 and is co-managed by BlackRock Advisors, LLC and BlackRock (Singapore) Limited. The United States-domiciled fund intends to tap into fixed income markets, thereby diversifying its portfolio for greater returns.
