Companhia Paranaense de Energia - also known as COPEL - is a Brazilian company that specializes in the generation, transformation, distribution, and trading of energy. With an emphasis on serving industrial, residential, commercial, rural, and other customers in the State of Paraná, the firm operates through four main segments: power generation and transmission, power distribution, gas, and power sale. COPEL is also active in the distribution of piped natural gas. As of December 31st, 2021, COPEL operated an impressive array of 20 hydroelectric plants, 30 wind plants, and 1 thermoelectric plant, with a substantial total installed capacity of 5,957 megawatts. Additionally, the company owned and operated 3,638 km of transmission lines and 204,957 km of distribution lines.
