The firm is focusing on startups, expansion stage companies, publicly listed companies, special opportunity lower middle market companies, as well as established-stage companies. Providing asset-based financing with a focus on cash flow and other customized financing solutions, Hercules Capital is investing primarily in United States-based companies, particularly in the areas of tech, biotech, and information services. The firm, with offices across the country, including in Palo Alto, California, Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, New York, among several others, was founded in December 2003, and was formerly known as Hercules Technology Growth Capital, Inc.
