Letter to Our Shareholders
Dear Supermicro Shareholders,
FY24 was a milestone year for Supermicro. Annual revenue is about
doubled to $14.9 billion, fueled by extraordinary demand for our
plug-and-play rack-scale Total IT solutions in AI, cloud, and enterprise
applications. We continue our strong revenue growth with 61% CAGR
over the past three years. This demonstrates the strength of our
innovation, the agility of our business model, our unique ability to
design and manufacture in-house, and deliver optimized first-to-market
IT solutions. Thanks to our focused efforts, we believe we now lead the
market in AI systems and DLC liquid cooling solutions. Supermicro is in a
class of its own!
Although we faced some unforeseen headwinds at the start of FY25, delaying the filing of this Annual
Report for FY24, these challenges did not impact our product innovation or the confidence shared
between us and our key customers, partners, or shareholders. I am happy to report that we are now
current on all financial filings and focused on continued business growth. We are scaling our teams
and processes and continue to strengthen our senior leadership across the organization. We are also
expanding our manufacturing footprint in North America, Europe, and Asia, with Malaysian facilities
now is ready for fully online. With this expansion, we now have the capacity to produce up to 5,000 racks
of AI/IT solutions per month with 2,000 150KW liquid cooled. With that, our goal remains unchanged:
to help our customers achieve breakthrough performance, be cost efficient, easy to use, and reduce
environmental impact.
Lastly, I would like to thank our employees, partners, Board of Directors, and shareholders. FY24
was a testament to the value we created for all stakeholders, and we will move forward in FY25 with
confidence and purpose, committed to delivering superior technology solutions and sustainable
growth. We will continue to lead the industry with our Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS) and
Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technologies, delivering scalable and rapid Total IT Solutions that propel AI
technology advancement. Our unique new DCBBS is getting ready for volume deployment and the
ready-to-ship Blackwell GPU solutions are right around the corner. Our best is yet to come.
Sincerely,
Charles Liang
President and CEO
Super Micro Computer, Inc.
Our Corporate Strategy
Complete Data Center Solutions with DCBBS Offering
As our customers’ needs continue to evolve, we are beginning to offer our Data Center Building Block Solutions
(DCBBS) which can serve customers with a performance and cost-optimized complete data center. These
solutions include AI platforms, next generation compute, storage, networking, edge IOT, software, and the
complete direct liquid cooling (DLC) stack, along with on-site installation, end-to-end DC management software
and service. This combination enables our global top-tier customers to set up new data centers at scale
and accelerate their time-to-online. We believe customers will begin adopting our DCBBS solutions in both
greenfield and brownfield data centers. As our offerings continue to evolve, we believe this will drive our strong
growth for years to come.
DLC Technology Benefits Accelerating Green Computing
Next-generation data centers and processors have increased power requirements, creating demand for
suppliers who can lower energy costs while providing superior technical performance. As the leader in DLC
technology, we have demonstrated the ability to increase rack density and lower power requirements with our
proprietary designs. This approach enables users of our rack-level turnkey computing platforms to be more
power efficient, swapping air conditioning for compute density, and lowering total cost of ownership. We
estimate the universal adoption of our energy-saving products can save more than $10 billion in energy costs,
saving the equivalent of 10 billion trees.
Building Block and Liquid Cooled Solutions Enable Multi-Platform Design Wins
Our Building Block strategy has enabled our engineers to rapidly develop new technologies with superior
performance, unmatched power efficiency, and the broadest choice of solutions for our customers. The
acceleration of new CPU and GPU platforms has elevated power and thermal design challenges. Our teams
remain dedicated to delivering exceptional solutions, enabling our customers to achieve the lowest cost per
compute and best performance per watt, which benefits their organization. We are also witnessing an increase
in the adoption of next-generation compute technologies, along with DLC solutions, which could soon reach
30% industry penetration.
Time-to-Market and Innovative Infrastructure Design
Customers are eager to deploy solutions quickly to serve their own customers effectively. Our ability to enable
any compute architecture, in any system, rack, data center, or scale, ensures the fastest time-to-market, driving
profitability for our customers. Our strategy of leading the infrastructure market through best-in-class design
capabilities, powered by U.S.A engineering, a global manufacturing footprint, and worldwide distribution,
has significantly accelerated our growth. Our design engineers have developed innovative solutions that
have enabled us to deliver the best time-to-market and time-to-online for key customers across Enterprise,
Cloud, Neo-Cloud, and Edge/Telecom markets. Equally important, nearly all our server and storage systems are
manufactured and tested in-house, either in Silicon Valley, Taiwan, the Netherlands, or Malaysia, providing a
synergistic and global supply chain advantage that complements our design expertise.
Rapid Expansion of Global Manufacturing Footprint
As we continue to gain mind and market share for accelerated compute platforms, DCBBS, and DLC solutions,
we are scaling our North American and global manufacturing footprint. Our capabilities enable strong support
for customers, suppliers, and partners. Additionally, we recently announced plans for a third campus in Silicon
Valley, expected to span nearly 3 million square feet upon completion, with construction set to begin in 2025.
Our ability to control manufacturing enables us to drive cost efficiencies and further extends our time-to-
market advantage of delivering rack-scale Plug and Play (PnP) solutions well ahead of the competition.
